Madison Di Silvio
M.A., LPC, NCC | Licensed Professional Counselor
Hi! My name is Madison Di Silvio, LPC (she/her), and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Chicago, Illinois. I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Roosevelt University Chicago, then completed advanced clinical training focused on evidence-based treatment for anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders.
Background
In my work, I view the therapeutic relationship as the foundation for meaningful change. Through a collaborative and compassionate process, I aim to help you become the expert of your own experience and the master of your own anxiety. Together, we’ll use psychoeducation, skills, and individualized treatment planning to empower you to live a values-driven, fulfilling life that feels authentic and sustainable.
I am a lived experience clinician who specializes in the treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Anxiety Disorders, and Panic Disorder, as well as co-occurring conditions such as Depression, and Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs). I utilize evidence-based modalities such as Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Comprehensive Behavioral (ComB). My clinical work is informed by both professional expertise and lived experience, which allows me to connect deeply with clients while fostering safety, understanding, and trust.
Prior to becoming a counselor, I spent over three years in crisis intervention, providing frontline mental health support and assisting individuals navigating acute distress, suicidality, and hospitalization. I was a Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS), a certificate that highlighted my dedication to peer-informed, recovery-oriented care.
Outside of direct clinical work, I am actively involved with OCD Midwest, where I contribute to community outreach and education aimed at increasing awareness and accessibility of OCD treatment. I have presented at both local and national conferences for trainings and talks, including the Illinois Counseling Association and the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF), where I have led talks such as “OCD: What the DSM Doesn’t Tell You” and “Reframe Shame: Creative Self-Compassion Without the Cringe.” My goal in these presentations is to help others, both clinicians and those with lived experience, understand OCD and anxiety through a compassionate lens.
Whether you are struggling with intrusive thoughts, panic, or skin/hair pulling, or simply seeking a space to reconnect with your values, I am here to help you feel seen, understood, and equipped to move forward. Together, we will work toward building a life that feels free, balanced, and aligned with what matters most to you.
