Shelly Baldasti
M.A., LCPC | Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) working with a wide range of clients navigating different types of mental health challenges and life experiences. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and a relational approach to create a supportive space where clients can explore, heal, and grow.
Background
My journey into this field began nearly 10 years ago when I earned my Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology and started my career in crisis work. Those early experiences showed me the depth of human resilience and the importance of being present in moments of distress. I also discovered that what I value most is building long-term, meaningful relationships with clients, creating a safe, nurturing space where people can slow down, explore their experiences, and grow at their own pace.
For the past nine years, I’ve worked in a community counseling center, alongside my private practice work for the last six. In these settings, I’ve had the privilege of working with clients across all ages, backgrounds, and life experiences, including individuals, couples, and families navigating trauma, relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, and major life transitions. My work has allowed me to support people from diverse demographics and trauma histories, each with their own unique story and strengths.
During my time in community mental health, I also had the opportunity to collaborate closely with other therapists and serve as a clinical supervisor. Those roles deepened my appreciation for teamwork, mentorship, and the collective effort it takes to provide compassionate, effective care.
My therapeutic style leans into Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), but I approach my work from a person-centered and integrative perspective. I believe therapy should fit the client, not the other way around, so I adapt my approach based on each person’s needs, goals, and personality.
At the heart of my work is the belief that healing happens in relationship. I strive to offer a warm, safe, and welcoming environment where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to create meaningful change. While therapy can involve serious and vulnerable work, I also believe in making space for humor, curiosity, and connection along the way.
What I love most about this work is walking alongside people as they reconnect with themselves and build lives that feel more authentic and fulfilling. Whether you’re navigating a specific challenge, healing from past experiences, or simply seeking a space to grow, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
